I recently needed a scarf in a pinch for my 9 year old son who had plans for sledding that same day, so I grabbed some chunky yarn and worked up a quick & easy scarf. I’ve written it up in 4 sizes: Toddler, Youth, Women’s & Men’s. The pattern calls for Bernat Softee Chunky yarn (shown below pattern) but you may also hold two strands of your favorite worsted weight yarn together (shown above) and get the same results. Shown above is the youth size scarf with a skeleton applique sewn on and a green stripe made up of hdc's across each end of the scarf, you can find the free skeleton pattern here: Crochet Nirvana Skeleton Pattern
This is a great basic beanie pattern for men using hdc's. At the end of the pattern you can choose to add additional rows if you want a hat with a folded edge or if you would like a slouchy hat!
