Free Crochet Pattern: Scrubby Heart

(Shown in Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Watermelon, Strawberry, Grape & Pink Grapefruit)

Today I have a very simple heart shaped scrubby pattern to share with you. I have only tested this pattern with the Scrubby Sparkle yarn but if you try it with another type of yarn I'd love to hear and/or see the outcome, feel free to share on Ravelry here: Scrubby Heart on Ravelry

Supplies
Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Yarn, Approx. 50 yards 
 
Abbreviations
Ch - Chain 
Hdc - Half Double Crochet 
Hdc2tog - Half Double Crochet 2 Together 
Sc - Single Crochet 
Sc2tog - Single Crochet 2 Together 
Ss - Slip Stitch 
 
Important Note:
-Chains do not count as a stitch.

Pattern
 
Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 2, turn. (1) 
Row 2: 3 hdc in same stitch. Ch 2, turn. (3) 
Row 3: 2 hdc in first, hdc in 1, 2 hdc in last. Ch 2, turn. (5) 
Row 4: 2 hdc, hdc in 3, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (7) 
Row 5: 2 hdc, hdc in 5, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (9) 
Row 6: 2 hdc, hdc in 7, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (11) 
Row 7: 2 hdc, hdc in 9, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (13) 
Row 8: 2 hdc, hdc in 11, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (15) 
Row 9: 2 hdc, hdc in 13, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (17) 
Row 10: 2 hdc, hdc in 15, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (19) 
Row 11: 2 hdc, hdc in 17, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (21) 
Row 12: 2 hdc, hdc in 19, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (23)

Row 14: 2 hdc, hdc in 23, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (27) 
Row 15: 2 hdc, hdc in 25, 2 hdc. Ch 2, turn. (29) 

After you have turned your piece over count from right to the left and place a stitch marker in the 16th stitch. You should have 13 stitches to the left of the marker and 15 to the right. Leave stitch marker in place, you will be coming back to this stitch later.

Row 16: Hdc in 12, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (13)
Row 17: Hdc in each across. Ch 2, turn. (13)
Row 18: Hdc2tog, hdc in 9, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (11)
Row 19: Hdc in 9, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (10)
Row 20: Hdc2tog, hdc in 6, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (8)
Row 21: Hdc in 6, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (7)
Row 22: Hdc2tog, hdc in 3, hdc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (5)
Row 23: Sc2tog, sc in 1, sc2tog. (3)
Fasten off. 

Turn piece. 

Join yarn with a ss to the stitch you placed a stitch marker in. Remove stitch marker.
You will have 1 stitch un-worked to the right of where the stitch marker was.

Row 24: Ch 1, hdc2tog, hdc in 12. Ch 2, turn. (13)
Row 25: Hdc in each across. Ch 2, turn. (13)
Row 26: Hdc2tog, hdc in 9, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (11)
Row 27: Hdc2tog, hdc in 9. Ch 2, turn. (10)
Row 28: Hdc2tog, hdc in 6, hdc2tog. Ch 2, turn. (8)
Row 29: Hdc2tog, hdc in 6. Ch 2, turn. (7)
Row 30: Hdc2tog, hdc in 3, hdc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (5)
Row 31: Sc2tog, sc in 1, sc2tog. (3)
Do not fasten off just yet. 

Ch 1 and sc around the entire edge. At the top of the heart where you have 3 stitches work 2 sc in the first, 1 sc in the next, 2 sc in the last. At the bottom tip of the heart work 2 or 3 sc.
After you make your way around the entire heart ss to join. 

Fasten off & sew in ends.

Free Crochet Pattern: Charming Chained Infinity Scarf

This pattern is great for beginners because it is super simple and only uses 3 basic stitches: Chains, Triple Crochets & Slip Stitches. I have made quite a few of these as gifts (& for myself) and they are always well received, it also pairs great with the Favorite Slouchy hat pattern.

Supplies
Red Heart Hygge Charm Yarn (or your choice worsted weight yarn), approx. 400 yds. 

Abbreviations (US Terms)
Ch - Chain 
Sk - Skip 
Ss - Slip Stitch 
Tr - Triple Crochet 
 
Pattern:

Row 1: Ch 271, use your stitch markers to help you keep count. Now, trying your best not to twist the chain, join with a ss to the first ch to form a large circle. 
Ch 3, tr in the same stitch as the ch 3, ch 6, sk 6, *tr in next 2, ch 6, sk 6.* Repeat *to* around. Join with ss to first tr. (35 ch-6 spaces) 

Row 2-25: Ch 3, tr in same, ch 6, sk 6, *tr in next 2, ch 6, sk 6.* Repeat *to* around. Join with ss to first tr. (35 ch-6 spaces) 

Fasten off and sew in ends.
