Free Crochet Pattern: Ice Fisherman's Stretchy Neck Warmer

(Bulky Version in Bernat Softee Chunky Grey)

This men's cowl came about as an idea from my father. He owns a bait shop and was wanting a few cowl type scarves to have in his shop for the ice fishermen in the winter, the request was for something simple with some stretch to ensure a fitted and warm neck warmer. He was pleased with the outcome and we decided to make a less bulky version also so I've included both the worsted weight and bulky weight versions for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
-Jenni

  1. This looks wonderful. I am a new crocheter- after knitting for over 50 years. I think that I can make these. Thank you for a free pattern.

  2. Thank you for sharing these patterns! I'm looking for something that I can work up fairly quickly for my partner and me to wear on winter walks with our energetic border collie mix, and these patterns fit the bill perfectly.
    Thank you again!

  3. So glad you printed a version for 4 ply yarn. I have difficulty with the bigger yarn and hooks. I do have a bit of a problem connecting the chain and keeping it from turning. I remember an easy way - chaining 10 and then connecting with the first chain but somehow, I can't make that work either. Thanks so much! Looking forward to making these neck warmers.
