Notes:
-You can easily make this scarf for any one by simply adding additional rows of daffodil.
-After completing the yellow section of the scarf you will be making the shirt and shorts at each end. This piece will be folded in half to hide all the sewing you have to do to attach the face pieces. Be sure when you fasten off these rows you leave the ends long enough to whip stitch the sides of the scarf together.
-Joins are made with sl st.

Sew all the pieces in to place, using black yarn weave through the belt and use white to stitch on a little collar. After the pieces are sewn on your scarf it should look like the one shown below.

And the back that you will be hiding:

Fold brown section in half, it should fold easily since we only worked in the FLO.
Now stitch the sides of the scarf together, below is an explanation of how I sewed it together. Be sure when you sew across the top that you don’t let the eyelashes show through the back of the scarf, they should be covered. Also, when you sew across the scarf take care to pay attention to the front and make sure your stitches are hidden.

Do the same on the other side and you are all done!

Free Crochet Pattern: Ribbed Pre-School Size Hat

Supplies:
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Stitch Abbreviations (US terms):
Ch - Chain
Dc - double crochet
Fpdc - front post double crochet
Sc - Single Crochet
Sl st - Slip stitch

Special Stitch: Crab Stitch aka Reverse Single Crochet. Explanation: You will be working from left to right for this stitch, it will feel awkward! Ch 1, *insert hook in next stitch to the right, yarn over and pull through (2 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops.* Repeat from *to* around for last row of hat.

Notes:
-Joins are made with sl st.
-Ch 2's count as dc.
-I've had a few questions about rows 4 & 5 so there is now a short photo tutorial for rows 4 & 5 following the pattern.

Row 1: Magic Circle, ch 2, 10 dc in circle. Join. (11 dc)

Note: The side currently facing you is the Right side and your ribbing will be worked on the inside of the hat.

Row 2: Ch 2, fpdc around same dc as join. *dc in next dc & fpdc around same dc* Repeat *to* around. Join. (11 dc, 11 fpdc)
Row 3: Ch 2, dc in same, fpdc around fpdc from previous row, *2 dc in next, fpdc around fpdc from previous row* Repeat *to* around. Join. (22 dc, 11 fpdc)
Row 4: Ch 2, 2 dc in same, fpdc around fpdc from previous row, *dc in next, 2 dc in next, fpdc around fpdc* Join. (33 dc, 11 fpdc)
Row 5: Ch 2, dc in same, fpdc around 2nd dc from previous row, *2 dc in next, fpdc around next.* Repeat *to* around. Join. (44 dc, 22 fpdc)
Row 6-18: Ch 2, dc in same, fpdc around every fpdc from previous round and dc in every dc from previous round. Join. (44 dc, 22 fpdc)

Fasten off and change to desired color for the edging.

With new color join in any stitch.
Row 19: In BLO: Ch 1, sc in same and in each around. Join. (66 sc)
Row 20-21: In BLO: Ch 1, sc in same, sc in each around. Join. (66 sc)

The next row is optional, if you don't want to crab stitch around do an additional row of sc's.

Row 22: Ch 1, crab stitch (I've also seen this referred to as reverse single crochet) around. Join & Fasten off.

Sew in your ends and add pom pom to the top of the hat if you wish!
Photo Tutorial for Increase rounds 4 & 5:

Your hat should look like this after round 4, in round 4 you are only increasing the dc's. Round should end with 33 dc's & 11 fpdc's with 3 dc's between each fpdc. Remember beginning ch 2 counts as a dc.
In round 5 you will be increasing the dc's and the fpdc's. Begin the row by Chaining 2, dc in the same. Now you will be working a brand new fpdc around the 2nd dc from the previous round.
After you create the new fpdc you will work 2 dc into the next dc, then fpdc around the fpdc from previous round.
At the end of this round you should have doubled your fpdc's for a total of 22 fpdc and you should now have 44 dc.

Round 6-18 will simply be working dc's in all previous dc's and fpdc's around all previous fpdc's.
